Tarun spent his childhood and early adulthood in Mumbai, India. After toying with the idea of becoming a pilot, he found his calling in dentistry. He attained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 1997. Tarun then joined as a registrar at prestigious KEM Hospital in Mumbai where he gained extensive experience in clinical dentistry. He then started his own practice in Mumbai practising general dentistry.
Tarun worked for almost 10 years. In all these years, he was constantly upgrading himself. However, he felt he wanted to upskill himself and practise dentistry at an international level. This led him to seek post graduate course in prosthodontics from University of Sydney, Westmead Centre for Oral Health in 2007. He was accepted through a very competitive process. He twice received the International Merit Scholarship Award. He has also been a part time clinical tutor at Sydney University mentoring student dentists. Three years of rigorous training with some of the best minds in Prosthodontics academics, put him on a path of constant self-improvement.
He decided to make Australia home and moved to beautiful town of Port Macquarie with his young family.
Dr. Tarun Nagrani joined Dr. Scott Davis in 2010 as a Specialist Prosthodontist in his Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour clinics. He has been offering services along the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and Northern NSW working in Taree right up to Ballina and now Gold Coast.
His special areas of interest are treatment of worn dentition and Implant Prosthodontics. Tarun is skilled in crown and bridge work, complete and partial removable dentures, treatment of temporo-mandibular disorders, complex aesthetic dentistry cases and dental management of sleep disorders. Achieving clinical outcomes based on best evidence in the most cost effective manner is of utmost importance to him. He takes great pride in doing so by investing adequate time in treatment planning and discussing comprehensively various possible options with the patient.
Tarun is a member of the Australian Dental Association and the Australian Prosthodontic Society. Tarun routinely attends post graduate courses and seminars in all fields of Prosthodontics; as a commitment to further his ongoing training and education. He loves spending his free time with his family, watching movies and reading prosthodontic literature.
